WELCOME TO THE FAMILY
Quagmire Filmz was founded in 2018 by an eclectic gang of hilarious, talented individuals. Before forming Quagmire, we individually have worked on numerous films, television series, commercials, and music videos. Since combining forces, in a short time we have collectively completed over 52 comedic skits releasing for a whole year once a week. We now call that, “Now That’s Sketch” Season 1 and 2. That gained us a soft partnership with BrandonTV for digital distribution.
Through our passion, vision, chemistry, and quite literally, blood, sweat, tears, we have found the perfect balance as one cohesive family, that we now call Quagmire Filmz. By utilizing each of our creative strengths in writing, producing, directing, and acting, we have developed an unmatched working rhythm that allows us to consistently maintain a tight shooting schedule, coming in under budget on each shoot. We are very excited for what the future holds with Quagmire Filmz, but most importantly sharing our love for this craft with our incredible fan base.
EL FOUNDER
LUIS TOVAR
Writer / Director / DOP
Blessed with being fluently bilingual in both English and Spanish, Luis Tovar has been making films for over a decade now. In his early college years he started developing film knowledge with traditional animation and 3D visual effects. He later enrolled in film school, picked up a camera and began making short films, music videos, commercials, and eventually worked as a cinematographer on a feature film. To improve storytelling Tovar dedicated time to truly learn screenwriting and began developing award-winning content. His short- screenplay “LAPSE” won 2nd place in the 2017 Glendale IFF followed by his feature length screenplay “PAPERLESS” which gained an Official Selection and nominated for “Best Connection” in the 2017 Oaxaca IFF global script challenge. And much more to list.
Tovar continues to learn and master the craft of cinema from different innovative angles: As a creative thinker in the writer room, as a technical camera guru, and the final touch of storytelling in the editing suite. All the elements added to be a versatile and strong director.

Daniel O’Reilly is a charismatic ball of humorous fire with a Midwestern heart and Jersey flare. His story began in Maywood, New Jersey before moving to Illinois at the age of 9. Daniel is a jack of all trades with both college and semi-pro football under his belt, a degree in broadcast journalism, and a career as a news anchor and reporter for a CBS affiliate in Colorado where he co-anchored the 5 and 10 weekend news. After then spending several successful years in corporate sales back in Illinois, he realized his true calling was to entertain audiences in front of the camera.
In 2012, Daniel packed up his life back home and began his whirlwind journey as an actor in Los Angeles, California. While managing a sports bar in Beverly Hills, he first met David Holt (later to become one of the 4 co-founders of Quagmire Filmz), who introduced him to his first acting intensive at Krater Studios. Since then Daniel has worked with many award-winning actors and directors on a multitude of projects. He has acted in numerous award-winning films, such as D-Railed with 52 wins at 13 festivals and Dial M for Morons, which recently won Best Ensemble Cast at Portland Film Festival. He’s thankful for the opportunity to express his passion for all aspects of filmmaking, behind-the-camera and in front-of-the-camera.

Chelsea Teel
Writer / Actor / Producer
After studying acting and film production during her time at university, Chelsea Teel began her professional acting career in 2014. During this time she continued her studies at renowned professional acting studio “Warner Loughlin Studios” in Los Angeles, California. From 2014-2015 she went on to book two of her first network television lead roles with Lifetime/LMN. Her first film lead role in, “Blind Beauty.” And her first national commercial for “Buchanan’s Scotch Whiskey“ campaign, alongside global superstar/recording artist J Balvin.
From that time on, Chelsea’s career as a professional actor took off. She has been lucky enough to work with award winning directors, writers, and producers on a myriad of projects from short films, to music videos, to commercials, to lead television roles, etc. Including booking the series regular role of “LIZ” on the Political Drama series “Charleston.” A fiery, intelligent, passionate Hispanic, graduate student, and political force to be reckoned with. And being of Spanish heritage/Spanish speaker herself, one of Chelsea’s greatest wishes is to continue to create and promote projects that bring more visibility and representation for all hispanic cultures in the entertainment industry overall.
In 2019 Chelsea decided to take creative control into her own hands. And in turn, co-founded Quagmire Filmz with the collaborative efforts of brilliant artists and award winning filmmakers: Luis Tovar, Daniel O’Reilly, and David Holt. Now not only an actor, but also a producer, writer, content creator, and aspiring director and cinematographer, Chelsea’s goal is to create, support, and tell great stories. Stories that create change and positive influence in the world. Stories that need to be heard. Stories that MATTER.

DAVID HOLT
Writer / Actor / Producer
David Holt lives in LA by way of Georgia, Kentucky, and New York. Born in Roswell, Georgia, David always dreamed big. His first ambitions were astronaut, fighter pilot, race car driver, world famous architect, and world famous actor. Through a series of fortunate events that kept him away from the first four he landed on the lucrative career of acting. Though he still does look at the stars, occasionally fly planes, drive fast, and…walk by pretty homes.
He started acting in college at Western Kentucky University where in four years he acted in 15 productions. Everything from children’s plays to Shakespeare. He learned how to entertain 100 small children as a weird looking tiger during the day, and turn around and be the foil to Macbeth as Banquo at night. David learned how to act in college and he also learned to love it. In short, he was doomed.
David then moved to New York City and continued in much the same manner as he did in college, but now on the professional level. He gave up doing children’s theatre, but continued doing Shakespeare and new plays by new playwrights. His favorite role he played was as Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing in an off-broadway house in midtown Manhattan.
Through his time spent in theatre David forged himself to be a very good character actor. However, upon landing in LA he had to hone his leading man skills. Though characters and playing them is his forte, he has earned a good reputation as a leading man as well.
David has worked with many award winning directors and been part of many award winning films. In Quagmire films, he has found an amazing collaboration with three amazing individuals. And even though starting Quagmire has been full of many unexpected challenges, it still remains the project that David is most proud of and the one that’s scared him the most. But, as he always says “If the role doesn’t scare the crap out of me, I won’t be any good in it.” And indeed the role of Quagmire co-founder scares him more than anything else.
